Here are some pictures for you.. We got the ceiling finish in, its Tongue and Groove Fir, we are really happy with it. We ran a bit low on the first type we bought and found some great neighbors that have 100 + acres, two minutes around the corner, they mill wood off their land. We got them to do some more lathe up for us for the interior walls and they had some T&G fir available as well for great prices. We have done a few interior walls in the fir to speed up the process.. The lathe walls will still need two plaster coats on them, the brown coat then the finish coat.. Some of the walls are in plywood since there will be cabinetry in front of them. Where the cabinets aren’t we will be putting up metal lathe to plaster over. Electrical wiring is finishing up tomorrow so we will have lights.. Hot water tank and toilet and laundry sink will all be plumbed in and ready to use tomorrow as well. We are onto kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanity, then plastering and floor. WAHOO, we are getting there. I had to add some pictures of our sweet little baby River Kai who is 6 weeks old tomorrow
Sierra and Ocean built a shelf for under Sierra’s loft bed to hold her fragile chickens and special things. They are loving being involved with the house build!! What an experience for them
We have roof insulation.. R40 formaldehyde free Johns Manville Insulation. We are super happy with how dry we got the house before insulation, by running the floors, fans and dehumidifier, hard to dry a natural built “mud” home in a westcoast winter. The passive solar design helped alot to warm and dry the house. As soon as the insulation went in the floor kicked off, a cold winter day and the sun warms the house incredibly well!!
Happy Birthday to our sweet little Indigo Skye, 5 years old now!! We love you so much Indi! Here are some pictures from her birthday skate on our neighbors frozen farm field, we had a blast!
