We spent a great few days at the beach playing in the sun, sand and waves! I will post pics soon when i get a chance! We are heading out today for Slab City at the Salton Sea, then off to Joshua Tree early in the week! Sending all our love to all our friends and family!
Here are some pics from the afternoon out at the tidepools with all the other Families on the Road
YAY We made it to Newport Dunes! It was a busy drive into LA today. WOW.. I am proud of Curtis for driving this beast on the freeways here! At one point we counted 7 lanes going one on one side of the meridian! The temp today was 25C so beautiful out! As soon as we got here and got set up in our site the kids were off to the pool (a salt water pool, which is great). It is wonderful to get to meet all these other Families on the Road, lots of great people to get to know and the kids are thrilled to have new friends to play with (there are something like 40 kids here with our group)! Here are some of the kids in the tree tonight
The kids were tired tonight after a long and busy day and fell fast asleep as soon as their heads hit the pillows! We look forward to a weekend of fun!! We will be online all weekend so friends Skype us if you can
We made it a long ways today, left at 8 am and arrived at 7pm!!!! The kids did incredible in the car! I swear we didn’t even get one “Are we there yet?”
We took lots of breaks to get out and run around and explore a bit too! We wanted to make it all the way to Fresno so it wouldn’t be too insane Thursday driving into LA. It was a beautiful drive, the Mt Shasta area is amazing, what a powerful place
we checked out the volcanic rock at a rest stop and the kids were pretty excited about that!
We stopped soon after we got into California cause Sierra was so THRILLED to see a palm tree and wanted to touch one, was pretty cute! They were also so excited to see all the fruit overflowing off the trees. Here they are climbing trees at a rest stop
Curt was happy to see our solar panels charging again after a cold last few months!
In Fresno we stayed at Camping World, in a locked gated, dog patrolled parking lot, pretty good set up. The kids had tonnes of room to ride their bikes around. Here is a pic of them doing some night riding in the parking lot after a long day of sitting!
We also picked up a few parts we needed to fix lights etc while we were there. So glad we made it so far today, and so grateful our kids are such amazing little travelers xo
