We heard back from the engineers office on a quote for our plans, we are very happy with the estimate and are excited that we are getting closer to our foundation going in!! Our home is load bearing cob on west, south and east walls and clay woodchip infill on our north wall. That will increase our R value up to about R35 on that wall. We have designed our home passive solar with the majority of our windows on our south side. Our plans are going through the engineer in the next month then to get a building permit and hopefully our foundation will go in APril and building will start after that in May whenever the weather is good! So this is the first call out to volunteers and anyone who wants to come and learn to cob???
