We looked around to find a deal on a trailer. We decided on a 1990 33′ foot Security Penthouse 5th wheel. It’s a pretty big machine. We got a great price on the trailer, but we knew it needed some TLC to get it ready to put the whole family into it.
The first thing that I did was remove the old carpet from the bedroom in the rear of the trailer. Once I got back into the bedside tables I noticed a bit of mold behind a bag on the floor. Once I got a better look I realized that the back wall of the trailer had been leaking. That opened up a big can of worms.
We have been working on if on and off for the past month tearing out the rot and replacing the back wall and floor. We finally got it back together with the help of our neighbor Ken. We decided that we would pull the window on the front of the trailer to re-seal it before the next big rain storm. Once we got the window out we found another big can of worms. It had been leaking for some time, and the wood was completely rotten in the front of the trailer.
